Terra (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Terra app (iOS and Android) and associated services. By using Terra, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

• Create a Terra account.
• Scan a product, submit feedback, or save preferences.
• Participate in surveys, contests, or promotional campaigns.
• Communicate with our support team via email, chat, or social media.

• Account Details: Name, email, and password.
• Preferences & Feedback: Allergy information, dietary preferences, favorited products.
• Payment Details: For in-app purchases or merchandise processed via App Store, Google Play, Stripe, or Shopify.
• Sensitive Information: Allergies or dietary restrictions may be considered sensitive under certain laws. We process this only as needed to provide services.

2. Information We Collect Automatically

When you use Terra, we automatically collect information including:

• Usage Information: Products scanned, features used, pages/screens viewed, interactions within the app.
• Device & Technical Information: Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, device identifiers, and technical logs.
• Transactional Information: In-app purchases, subscription details, and purchase history.
• Inferences: Derived information such as user preferences or product interests based on scan history.
• Analytics: App performance metrics, error logs, and engagement statistics.

• APIs: Open Food Facts or similar product databases.

Note: Terra does not use personal information for advertising to third parties or sell data.

Terra may use AI and machine learning to generate Terra Scores and product recommendations. These are:

• Not medical advice or legally binding decisions.
• Generated using anonymized or aggregated data where possible.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

• With Service Providers: Firebase, Google Analytics, AI processing providers, and other vendors assisting in app operation.

• Account & Preferences: Retained until deletion + 30-day grace period.
• Scan Data: Only anonymized product data stored; no images.
• Analytics Logs: 12–24 months.
• Marketing Preferences: Until unsubscribed.

Users can request immediate deletion via email.

13. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures:

• Encryption (TLS), secure storage.
• Restricted access to employees.
• Audit logs of data access.

Note: No system is 100% secure.

14. Data Transfers

Data may be processed or stored outside your country. Protections include:

• Terra Scores and recommendations are informational only.
• We are not responsible for third-party database inaccuracies (e.g., Open Food Facts).
